Kyoto Day 1

On Tuesday afternoon we returned our rental bikes to Onomichi, took a slow train to Osaka, and then a high-speed train (Shinkansen) to Kyoto.
Lunch in Osaka Station, udon noodles with tempura topping, ready in about 2 minutes, cost $6-7.

When we got to Kyoto that evening we walked around one of the markets.
This is a knife store that has been around for several centuries, there were knives up to $1,000.

We had dinner at our ryokan in Kyoto.
We had our own room with my name written outside.

Probably didn’t need this much room.

Our first few courses, which were on the table when we sat down. From left to right, some kind of soup with a burner underneath, amuse stuff in the middle, apricot liquor, and sushi.
